ENTRANCE GATES FOR AN OVERSEAS CUSTOMER

These are without doubt the largest entrance gates we have ever been asked to make

They are gigantic. At their highest point they are over 10 metres tall. If you look at the people in the bottom left of the picture you will get an idea as to the scale of this project.

We were commissioned to make these entrance gates for an overseas customer who wanted the design to be based on the Palais de L’Elysee gates. The gates and piers were made made in steel, hot zinc sprayed, painted and finally gilded with gold leaf.

They utilised all our skills and resources from water jet cutter to the traditional blacksmiths anvil. Fortunately we have a large well equipped workshop and when we were commissioned to make the gates we installed a huge overhead crane which was well received by our team handling the project. Even so when these gates and piers started to take shape they completely filled the workshop.

The logistical challenges involved in not only the manufacture but the careful packaging and shipping was hugely challenging.

Topp & Co. supplies architectural metalwork worldwide. We have the operational and logistics management expertise to take care of your entire project, including specification, shipping, delivery and installation. Where required we can send our own installers overseas to coordinate with local specialists on your behalf. In the case of this particular project it wasn’t possible to oversea the installation due to the travel restrictions in place through the COVID pandemic.
