New gates for an existing customer
Its always nice when a customer comes back for more work,
so we were happy when following the completion back in 2023 of a project to make a driveway gate for their house. The customer came back to us asking if we could make two new gates for a pool and pavilion they are building. The brief was simply to do something in a similar style to compliment the prior work.
Back in 2023 we were commissioned to make and install a pair of driveway gates utilising existing brick piers. These gates were made in steel with a galvanising and mordant finish.
The new gates are being made in our workshop at the moment and these pictures are showing of work in progress. The firewelding illustrated in the pictures is being done using our induction heater rather than the traditional coke fuelled forge. One of the reasons we are using firewelding on these gates is because the finished gates will be hot dip galvanised and the same finish applied as the driveway gates. We find that firewelding doesn’t show highlight the welds when galvanised.
