A traditional elegant balustrade design
The 11 metres of balustrade, infill panels and handrails were made in mild steel using the traditional techniques of a skilled craftsman set into a stone staircase.
We made this stunning traditional balustrade with a polished wooden handrail for Rockley Manor. When the Manor house was featured in March 2013 edition of ‘English Homes’ our balustrade was described as ‘majestic scene stealer’.
Rockley Manor, situated near the historic town of Marlborough, is a Grade II listed manor house dating from the eighteenth century, over recent years the house, outbuildings and gardens have been carefully restored.
The Manor house was built in 1775 and reconstructed in 1820 by Sir Hugh Smyth, it is a late Georgian masterpiece with many additional features being added by ‘Paul’ Geddes Hyslop, the renowned architect who specialised in salvaging Georgian features from fashionable Georgian houses in London and reinstating them elsewhere to great effect.
