Chapel flag brackets

This beautifully hand forged wrought iron bracket was designed to allow a flag pole to pass through the two hoops

The bracket was made to match the existing brackets that support the brass rail so the design cleverly uses all the same elements as the brackets on either side but with the centre upright stopping at the scrolls which then allowed the flag pole to pass through the two hoops.

Our blacksmith used the same wrought iron material, the same traditional blacksmith techniques including fire welding, plus some clever swaging under the fly press to get the detailed square moulded section. the end result was self coloured as the originals and blends perfectly with the rest of the supports. If this had been fabricated and welded it would be very difficult to match the originals.
